About this place

Enclosed by towering white limestone cliffs, Navagio Beach — also known as Shipwreck Beach — is one of the most photographed spots on Earth. Accessible only by boat, its brilliant turquoise waters contrast with the rusted hull of the MV Panagiotis, a smuggler ship that ran aground in 1980. The beach sits inside a cove on the northwest coast of Zakynthos, hidden from the roads above.
