About this place

Made famous by the 2000 film "The Beach," Maya Bay is a sheltered lagoon on the uninhabited island of Ko Phi Phi Leh. After years of closure for ecological recovery, the bay reopened with strict visitor limits, allowing its coral reefs and marine life to flourish once more. Vertical karst cliffs encircle the bay like a natural amphitheater.
